College (GMC), India, Bapu taught
Pharmacology at
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India.
He immigrated to Chicago becoming a citizen of the United States of America. He
did his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases
at
Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and
Loyola/Hines
VA Hospital. Bapu is a past Medical
Director of Tuberculosis Division,
Chicago Department of Public Health.
Bapu has been a very active volunteer in several community service agencies
serving on the boards of several not for profit organizations in Chicago
including as Joint Chair of
Students Science Forum (SSF)
and participated in
Principal for a Day Program at Northside College
Prep High School in Chicago. Bapu is
also active in organized medicine serving on several committees of Chicago Medical
Society (CMS) and on the CMS council
and as Member of Midwest Clinical Conference Committee.
